Withdrawal Statistics:

The charts below are used to determine the current state of our water supply. Unlike surface water suppliers, who can measure the amount of water stored in a reservoir, we cannot determine exactly how much water is left in our wells. We take the available information, analyze the trends, and make a judgement as to if conservation restrictions are required to protect the Town's water supply.

Summer Usage Projection - This chart shows an estimate of how much water we plan on withdrawing this summer. Our permit allows us to withdraw 84.15 million gallons between May 1st and September 30th which is an average of 0.55 million gallons per day. (Updated on July 21, 2008 )
USGS South Middleton Gauge Station - This chart shows the average daily streamflow for the USGS South Middleton Gauge Station along with the maximum, minimum, and average flows recorded for each day based on 63 years of records. (Updated on July 28, 2008 )
USGS Ipswich Gauge Station - This chart shows the average daily streamflow for the USGS Ipswich Gauge Station along with the maximum, minimum, and average flows recorded for each day based on 70+ years of records. The water ban thresholds shown in the graph are based on conditions set by the Department of Environmental Protection in our Modified Withdrawal Permit. (Updated on July 28, 2008 )
