1 PM Update: The repair was completed and water turned back on around 11:30 AM.
9AM Update: An 18 foot section of pipe has been removed and the crew is in the process of splicing in a new section of ductile iron main. We expect to turn the water back on around noon.
8 AM Update: The original main broke a few feet away from a repair made last week. Approximately 15 to 20 feet of pipe will be replaced as a result of today's break. Crews are currently removing the broken section.
There has been another water main break on Mansion Drive. It broke around 4:50 AM and the water service to Mansion Drive was turned off at 5:30 AM. Crews will begin repairing the break at 7 AM after other utilities have a chance to mark out their lines. Water service is expected to be back on around noontime.Customers throughout the system are likely to see discolored water due to the rapid flow of water through the center of town when the break occurred. Delay any unecessary clothes washing until the system has stabilized which should be sometime this afternoon. Run an outside faucet or a bathtub (cold) for 10-15 minutes and the water should clear up.
