A water main near the intersection of Washington Street and Kinsman Lane broke at approximately 11:15 PM on October 25, 2011.  Water service on Washington Street from #99 to Boxford Road and Meadowview Road has been turned off so the main can be repaired.

Customers throughout the system are likely to see discolored water due to the rapid flow of water when the break occurred. Delay any unnecessary clothes washing until the system has stabilized.  Run an outside faucet or a bathtub (cold) and the water should clear up.  We don not recommend us the water for drinking or cooking while the it is discolored.  Also, please do not use any hot water until the cold water is clear to avoid collecting the sediment in your hot water tank.

Hydrant flushing for 10/26 has been cancelled.

7:00 AM Update: Water service to Kinsman Lane from Washington Street to #29 was turned off to repair the break.  Water to all homes was restored by 5:30 AM.

A water main at 136 Washington Street broke this afternoon around 2:30 PM.  Water service to Washington Street from Boxford Road to just beyond Brook Road, Lockwood Lane, Cleary Lane, Millbrook Lane, Silverbrook Lane, Boxford Road, Surrey Lane, Pine Ridge, Heritage Lane, Forrest Road and Fuller Farms Road.

7:00PM Update: The pipe repair is complete and partially backfilled.  Water service is being restored to Washington Street, Brook Road, Forrest Road, Boxford Road, Surrey Lane, Heritage Lane, Fuller Farms Road and Pine Ridge Road.  Once the repair is pressure tested and the previous streets are flushed, water service will be restored to Lockwood Lane, Cleary Lane, Millbrook Lane and Silverbrook Lane.

10/14 Update: The repair was completed and water service restored to all customers last night.

A water main at the intersection of River Road and Prospect Street broke this morning at 6:45 AM.  Water service to most of Prospect Street and part of River Road will remain off until the pipe is repaired.

Customers throughout the system are likely to see discolored water due to the rapid flow of water when the break occurred. Delay any unnecessary clothes washing until the system has stabilized whichshould be sometime this afternoon. Run an outside faucet or a bathtub (cold) for 10-15 minutes and the water should clear up.

2:20 PM Update: The break is in a poor location we need to replace a gate valve and 45 degree bend located underneath 2 water service lines.  We are also receiving reports of discolored water throughout the system.

The water main in front of 104 Main Street broke this afternoon.   Water service to Main Street from Washington Street to Ipswich Road was turned off and will remain off until the pipe is repaired.
